Here JOYS’ graphic and geometric aesthetics dialogue with the architectural element on which it is inserted, developing a grid within which the artist’s name is repeated. Each line that makes up the grid is intended as a participant in a working group that operates in total harmony, each responding to the stimulus of the other. The work “Contemporary future” is intended to communicate a concept of the future, of symbiosis between technology, innovation and the environment.

Aesthetically and architecturally, the work dialogues with the building, exploiting its features to be as functional as possible, with the idea of transforming a corner wall into a single flat wall. This gives a different meaning to the architecture of the building, one that is not only functional but also capable of capturing attention and generating emotions.

The set of parallel and crossed lines move with a metric and with precise rules: inside the “pattern” JOY has inserted his own name (as it is always an important aspect even if no longer fundamental) elaborating it in his personal vision. At the same time the lines work as a team: the combination of all these vectors determines the final result, each line is a function of the next line, all in perfect harmony and balance.

Joys

Born in Padua, JOYS is an Italian artist who lives and works between London and Venice. He began his artistic career in the 1990s. He focused his research on lettering, first as a need for self-expression, which then turned into a need for evolution and exploration.

JOYS’ works are characterized by his intense attention to detail and a strategic study of lettering. Layered lines and layers give life to impossible labyrinths where nothing is left to chance and shapes always obey precise and logical rules. For years the artist has extended his visual language to sculptures, buildings and other objects, always applying his unique style.

His public art works and murals have been exhibited throughout Europe, the Americas and also in China, Taiwan, Australia and Africa. Some of his exhibitions include several major international institutions such as the MART in Rovereto, and the Gyeonggi Musem of Modern Art in South Korea.
